Toddler Teacher – Full-Time
Position Details
Hillside Early Childhood Center is searching for a creative, warm Toddler Teacher with a love for early childhood education to join a team of loving and enthusiastic educators at an early childhood center in South/Central Austin. Associate or a CDA credential is preferred. Knowledge of NAEYC and Texas Rising Star criteria a definite plus, as well as hands-on experience working with toddlers in a group care setting.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A passion for educating the youngest learners from a play-based perspective, using the environment as an important teaching tool
- Knowledge of toddler development
- An appreciation for the outdoor learning environment, including gardening and natural play spaces
- Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, energy, and a love for learning
- Willingness to collaborate in a team environment
- Knowledge of best practices for early childhood education including the documentation of children’s progress by writing anecdotal records, taking photos, and collecting student work
Duties include, but not limited to the following:
- Implement lesson plans and environments for toddlers with a strong focus on social and emotional learning
- Develop strong relationships with parents and children to foster home and school connectivity
- Contribute to a team of educators in the toddler program who provide individualized care that fosters healthy bodies, joyful hearts, curious minds and engaged families
- Understand and stay current on TXDFPS Minimum Standards, as well as criteria for NAEYC and Texas Rising Star.
Float Teacher – Part-Time
Position Details
Hillside Early Childhood Center is searching for creative, warm infant, toddler, and preschool teachers with a love for early childhood education to join a team of loving and enthusiastic educators at an Early Childhood Center in South/Central Austin. Prefer an associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or related field and /or CDA credential. Knowledge of NAEYC and Texas Rising Star criteria a definite plus, as well as hands-on experience working with infants and toddlers.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A passion for educating the youngest learners from a play-based perspective, using the environment as an important teaching tool
- An appreciation for the outdoor learning environment, including gardening and natural play spaces
